Last Five Seconds of a Championship Game

5 seconds. 5 tiny little seconds parched on the clock. We’ve run this play 1000 times and I know where I’m supposed to go but this is where it counts. Time freezes as I glide into position. Sweat trickles down my face as the inbounder and I lock eyes. The ball floats into my hands as I realized I’ve been waiting for this my whole life. My form tightens as I split-secondly check everything. “What if I don’t make it?” “What if I lose the-

WRMS Basketball

This is the third week of games for the 2013-2014 West Ridge basketball team. We all are very excited for this week to play against Marble Falls after a tough loss to Dripping Springs by 1 point in a game that came down to the last second. Also the team is playing in a tournament this weekend in San Marcos at Texas State University. I’m very excited this week for the team as we have a chance to get a much needed win and go play hard at Texas State. Go WRMS!

NBA Start

Yesterday, October 29th, the 2013-2014 NBA season started. After lots of trades and adjustments over the off-season, and some preseason games, teams are going to be fresh hot off the press and ready to play for real now. Some big match ups tonight are the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies against the Orlando Magic, and the Atlanta Hawks playing the all mighty Dallas Mavericks. Are you rooting for any one specific this year? Do you have any championship predictions?

Basketball

I really like to play basketball. Especially on teams that travel places. My favorite team to watch are the Kansas Jayhawks. I got to basketball camp to compete and have fun with people everywhere. I play the position of point guard, the person who brings up the ball and usually doesn’t shoot much. My confidence as a player has grown a bunch as the years add on.

Playing at basketball tournaments is a lot better in my opinion because you get to camp out at the gym and be with your team. Therefore if you play just one game, its you play and go home and your down. Playing in basketball tournaments is more challenging because of the preparation it takes. So many times I have been tempted to eat at the concession stand after a game, but I don’t when I have another game to play in 30 minutes. I think playing in tournaments has made me a all around better player by giving me more competition, responsibility, and opportunity.
