NBA Start

Yesterday, October 29th, the 2013-2014 NBA season started. After lots of trades and adjustments over the off-season, and some preseason games, teams are going to be fresh hot off the press and ready to play for real now. Some big match ups tonight are the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies against the Orlando Magic, and the Atlanta Hawks playing the all mighty Dallas Mavericks. Are you rooting for any one specific this year? Do you have any championship predictions?

West Ridge vs Lake Travis

Last week, the West Ridge football team played against Lake Travis Middle School. We played a hard fought game that came down to the wire. Our team only gave up one big play on defense for a touchdown. At the half, it was 6 to 0 Lake Travis lead. We drove hard in the second half and came close to scoring. But sadly we ended up losing 6 to 0.

Should Schools Offer Cash Bonuses for Good Test Scores?

I believe that schools should not give cash bonuses to reward good test scores. I think part of being a good student is having to want to get good grades, not trying because there is a reward. Which goes along with studying, being prepared for class, doing class work, etc. If schools offered money for test scores, it would certainly motivate people, but I still think it’s not the right way to motivate. Not to mention how much money the school would waste paying there own students to do excel. The real reward for getting a good test score should be the self satisfaction, knowing and being happy that you did good on a test.
